Ban The Fan is the brand new book by BMX legend Taj Mihelich. Ban The Fan is a 102 page hardback book that is suitable for both adults and children.
After Giraffe has a run-in with an office ceiling fan he begins a campaign against overhead danger. However, due to his height, Giraffe’s perspective is very different from that of his friends. Follow's Giraffe's journey as he tries to imagine the world through his friend's eyes. The outcomes are sometimes imperfect, sometimes funny, but with his newfound understanding, the world becomes a little happier.
Ban the Fan is set in the same world as Bernie the Bike Builder and also includes an introduction from 'Bernie'.
Not only is Taj Mihelich a legendary BMX rider, his artwork often appears on Pink Bike showing his unique way of looking at the world of cycling.
'Ban the Fan' is the third book from Taj Mihelich, the other two are 'Bernie the bike builder' and 'Back before they invented open face helmets'.

Originally like most i found my way to bmx as a kid in the 1980's, however it wasn't till the 1990's that the cycling and bmx bug finally bit, i originally became involved in the cycle trade through a series of cycle stores which lead me eventually to a well known independent cycle store in derby. As bmx was finally coming out of it's post 1980's boom, i helped lead the way with a new instore bmx department that eventually became one of the top 5 bmx stores in the uk. During these years derby's indoor skatepark storm also helped cement the area's reputation as one of the best bmx cities in the uk. This all led to my involvement with the skatepark and when the uk's biggest bmx contests chose our park 3 years running to be a host of the backyard jam series it gave me the opportunity to get involved and work with all levels of the bmx industry.
During this time i was invited on many trips around the world with my bmx and camera and got to experience what was some of the best years in bmx. Finally around 2004 i felt it was my time to take the next step and open up my own bmx store and continue on supporting bmx in the east midlands region, it's sure been a rollercoaster ride during all these years, i've been lucky enough to meet and help many riders from the area who have gone on with our help to be world class bmx riders, not too bad for a tiny city in the uk! Now in my 19th year as a core independent bmx shop owner i start my 4th decade continuing on with my support for bmx.
